FLAMING GORGE, Utah (KUTV) - Another Utah fish record has been broken.
According to the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR), Matt Smiley caught a 48-inch lake trout at Flaming Gorge in May.
He later released the fish back into the water.
Smiley now holds the current catch-and-release state record for lake trout--stripping other record holders of their titles.
Just last month, Heather Litke was honored by DWR for catching the largest catch-and-release fish in Utah history.
She caught a 44.5 inch striped bass.
