Kimberly Goodwin is a social worker adjunct professor and about six weeks, Goodwin and a friend started the Neighbors Helping Neighbors program.
They began raising money, which they used to purchase once-a-week meal deliveries. The program has made deliveries to places like the Battered Women's Shelter, Roy Maas Youth Alternatives and University Hospital.
"You don't have to be somebody important or in a certain position to do something like this," Goodwin said. "Just do it."
Goodwin's work is two-fold. She said, with the help of places like WD Deli and Sangria on the Burg, they've helped feed nearly 600 people and provide more than $6,500 in business to local restaurants.
