Two of the three southbound lanes of the Northway are open in Clifton Park, and the southbound on-ramp at exit 9 also reopened.

This comes after a truck towing a trailer with a boom lift hit the Sitterly Road bridge overpass near exit 9.

The driver has been ticketed, and DOT crews installed temporary support structures for now, as a more permanent repair is evaluated. The overpass remains closed.

One question is how much is the repair going to cost?

I checked in with New York State Department of Transportation, they say they don’t have a handle on any sort of estimated cost yet.

I also asked will taxpayers pay for the repairs or will the trucking company whose driver hit the bridge pay.

That will be for both the cost of repairs to the overpass and associated costs such as emergency response, but they don’t’ know what the amount will be.
