When expectations are high and a team loses, changes can follow.
There's been a lot of criticism of the Bills' coordinators, Ken Dorsey on offense and Leslie Frazier on defense.
When asked about their status Monday afternoon, Sean McDermott said it's too early to talk about his staff, just 24 hours after the season-ending loss to Cincinnati. Read into that what you want.
The Bengals did what they wanted offensively Sunday, controlling the line of scrimmage and walking down the field for a pair of touchdowns on their first two drives to go up 14-0.
From that point on, the Bills kept trying to fight from behind — but they never really challenged.
The final score was 27-10, and it wasn't even that close.
Josh Allen was asked about what ended up being a long, long season.
"There was a lot of stuff that happened to a football team that I don't know if it's ever happened before," Allen said. "Just battling through that with the guys in this locker room and trusting each other. Obviously, we want to win — make no mistake about it — but I'm proud of how this team was able to fight through some of the stuff we went through."
"For 31 teams, they're going to feel like this," Von Miller said. "We can't let that loss yesterday create a loss for us in the offseason or let it carry over into this next season. We've just got to keep pushing."
The Bills won the AFC East, they won 14 games, including 8 in a row before Sunday, but none of that matters now — as this team is, a few weeks early, already being forced to look to next season.
